Iran: No logic to enrichment suspension requests

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said today "Israel is by no means in a position to threaten Iran." He made the remarks while commenting on Israeli boast of air show in the Mediterranean and scenario of air strike on Iran.
"It is a hollow slogan and they do so whenever they want to distract from their internal crisis" Hosseini said adding they want to boost moral if their army because of the humiliating defeat of Israel in its 33-day war in Lebanon.
Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a reaction to the "psychological war of the western media on possible attack" by Israel against Iran's nuclear installations said "We are ready to face any situation." Responding to a question here Saturday afternoon on the sidelines of commemoration ceremony for late "martyr Mostafa Chamran," Larijani said, "If they make such a grave mistake, they will pay a high price for it."
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad said today in a live TV address that "Iran is land of blossoming talents and might" and "Today we are at the peak of success in many branches of scientific and technological activities and in modern technologies, such as nuclear and nano technologies, as well as the aerospace technology we have reached noticeable advancement, so that we have sent to space our explorer spaceships and their related satellite, too, is ready to be launched."
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said today that Iran is waiting for an official response to its proposed package.
Talking to reporters, he said, "Solana has agreed with the general views of the package, but we are waiting for an official response from them."
"We have mentioned several axes in our package and believe that the best ground for resumption of negotiations is emphasis on common points shared by the two packages. This was confirmed by both sides," Hosseini reiterated.
Asked whether pressures would make Tehran leave the NPT, he said, "Tehran is making every effort to observe Non-Proliferation Treaty and continues with close cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency. We will fulfill our commitments in this respect."
Both Iran and Europe enjoy various potentials for establishment of global security and stability, he said, stressing that negotiations prepares good opportunity for such cooperation.
He urged the two sides not to miss such a valuable opportunity.
Tehran will consider the proposals and will announce its views at an appropriate time, he added.

Iran's Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday that the western countries are not trustable and "We should produce the required nuclear fuel for our power-plants in the country."
The western countries in the past never remained committed to their pledges with regards to nuclear pacts, Boroujerdi said.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said that "There is no logic behind suspension of enrichment to produce fuel for power plants."
Talking to reporters, he said, "Suspension of enrichment has no logic and therefore, Tehran's stand on the issue has not changed." He made the remarks while talking to domestic and foreign reporters during his weekly press conference.
Hosseini further turned down any request depriving the Iranian nation of its legal rights.
As to the possibility of issuing another anti-Iran resolution by the UN Security Council, he said, "Any resolution against the country will not result in abandoning our rights."
IIran believes that the UN Security Council's move to issue anti-Iran resolutions is totally wrong, he said, adding "The Islamic Republic stresses diplomatic procedures and will follow up its objectives through legal channels."
Iranian Government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham had said on Saturday that Iran's nuclear case has been closed. "The case has come to an end and within framework of the modality plan all measures have been taken. The IAEA too has released reports two or three times, showing that there is no diversion in Iran's nuclear program and it is completely of peaceful nature," Elham told a weekly press briefing.
Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili said on Saturday that Iran has offered its strategic package to continue talks with group 5+1 based on a win-win policy. As a member of NPT and IAEA Iran will remain committed to its obligations but will not submit to any illegal pressures and is to continue its peaceful nuclear activities, Jalili said.
In light of UK pressure on European countries for sanctions on Iran, it is not clear what Iran's reaction will be if such sanctions are adopted.
Iran's Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltanieh said that certain states led by the US are interested in nuclear apartheid and science monopoly. He said, Iran has started its nuclear activities some 50 years ago.
The Iranian nation, despite 30 years of sanctions by big powers, have become more united and consolidated and will continue with resistance to the bullying powers, he said. "Progress of Iran will benefit the entire globe," he said.
Referring to the US accusations against Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he said despite recent reports released by the IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei on peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, Washington still continues with its anti-Iran propaganda.
The recent reports by the UN nuclear agency indicated that Iran has made no diversion from civilian purpose, Soltanieh said.
"The reports also indicated that all Iranian nuclear sites have been put under full IAEA supervision."
